Our press release covers more information on this event and what key stakeholders have to say.
St. Helier, 4 June 2025 – Katie Piper is set to talk on identity and ageing at the Jersey Festival of Words 2025 this autumn. Katie will give her opinion on age, beauty and owning your own space.

BAFTA-NOMINATED English writer and activist Katie Piper is to headline this year’s Jersey Festival of Words with a discussion on identity, ageing, and resilience in the light of the life-changing acid attack she endured.
Appearing in conversation with festival chair Lucy Cotter, the television presenter will discuss her new autobiography, Still Beautiful.
The pair will consider ageing in today’s world in what is promised to be an “enlightening and emotionally powerful event” at the Freedom Centre on the evening of 27 September.
Among the topics Ms Piper is set to publicly address, is facing public abuse after facing a chemically acid attack in 2008.
The former model, who was attacked by her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice, with the acid causing major damage to her face and blindness in one eye.
Ms Piper underwent pioneering surgery to restore her face and vision, and her attackers were convicted and given life sentences.
In 2009, Ms Piper gave up her right to anonymity in order to raise awareness after facing public abuse.
After sharing her story, the bestselling author and Loose Women regular will reflect on how the incident reshaped her views on beauty and ageing during her visit to Jersey.
Ms Piper is due to talk about how we can all learn to embrace the passage of time with strength and self-worth.

Jamie Crawford, Group Head of Wealth Management at Oakglen Wealth, commented: “We are proud to sponsor such a meaningful and thought-provoking event. Katie Piper’s message in Still Beautiful is a powerful testament to courage and authenticity, and we are honoured to support her inspiring work.”
